AWOL Soldier Trevor Loope released from jail

Trevor Loope

Dear Friends, Trevor Loope called me yesterday. He has been released from the St Lawrence County jail. His exact legal status was not completely clear to me but it's certainly good that he was released from pre-trial detention. Today, he's being picked up by Ft Drum personnel (yesterday they said there was too much snow for them to come!) and taken back to Drum.

He was told that he will see a base psychiatrist upon his return. Trevor's prior evaluations should carry weight with this medical officer, unless he's lacking in any professional standard. I assume that the letters from the Ithaca Council members have all been sent to General Oates by now. I forwarded the one that I had, from Nancy Schuler. Let me know if Oates responds to any of them (he might)

Again, thanks for all your help! Trevor was very impressed with the support that you rallied in Ithaca and with the Common Council. I look forward to working with you on the "safe haven" Sanctuary Resolution. A fellow from Woodstock's city council has just contacted me about a similar initiative.. Best, Tod Ensign, CS

They should have kept the little liar in Jail, thats where he belongs. He is lying to everyone. He went AWOL because the law was after him, not for some madeup excuse

Trevor is absolutely not a liar! I am his cousin, and I can personally vouch for the trauma he has experienced, and how that trauma has changed him. Furthermore, I am a clinician, and as a clinician, he shows real signs and symptoms of PTSD.

For too long, mental health has not been recognized as the disease it truly is. You would not blame someone with breast cancer for their illness, and yet people all too often point the finger at victims of mental disturbances as "jokes" and "liars." People like that are the reason why the military does not take mental illness seriously, and why good, loving people like Trevor have to fight for the care and recognition of disease that should be freely and willingly given him.

Look, he lied about his reasons its plain and simple. He was wanted by the Law for criminal charges, and he ran rather than face his illegal actions like a man.

PTSD, he never heard of it till they came looking for him.

He is a little liar and a criminal to boot, no matter which way you look at it
